They're Back! The Reusable Christmas Cracker Hats Have Returned
I know.
It's August.
Some of you are probably still thinking about summer holidays, BBQs and whether we're actually going to get any sunshine…
Meanwhile, over at More Shabby Than Chic, Christmas has arrived.
And there's a very good reason for it.
My reusable Christmas cracker hats are BACK!
They've always been one of my most popular Christmas makes, so this year I've been shopping for some gorgeous new fabrics to add to the collection.
And I may have got sligh
tly carried away.
Why Reusable Cracker Hats?
We all know what happens with normal Christmas crackers.
You pull them.
Someone gets a tiny screwdriver nobody needs.
Someone reads a terrible joke.
And then everybody puts on one of those paper crowns that either tears, falls off or lasts approximately seven minutes before ending up on the Christmas dinner table.
So I decided to make something better.
My reusable Christmas cracker hats are made from fabric, so instead of throwing them away at the end of Christmas dinner, you simply pack them away with your Christmas decorations and bring them out again next year.
And the year after that.
They're a little bit of Christmas that can become part of your family's traditions.
Plus, they look much nicer in the Christmas dinner photos than a wonky paper crown!
New Christmas Fabrics Have Arrived!
This year I've added a whole new selection of Christmas fabrics, and there's something for pretty much everyone.
Baubles & Bows – traditional Christmas trees, decorations and gorgeous red bows.
Cosy Snowman Christmas – a softer pink Christmas
print with snowmen, presents, wreaths and trees.
Christmas Dogs – festive dogs wearing scarves, Christmas jumpers and even antlers. Obviously.
It's a Bone Christmas – because apparently even the dogs need their own Christmas hat fabric! A gorgeous teal print covered in festive bones and paw prints.
Jolly Santa – big, happy Santa faces on a lovely traditional green background.
And now I have the difficult job of deciding which one is my favourite.
At the moment, I'm refusing to choose.
Modern Christmas Trees – simple pink, green and gold Christmas trees for something a little different.

Nutcracker Christmas – nutcrackers, bows, mistletoe and wreaths for a lovely classic Christmas look.

Pick Your Favourite Before It's Gone
Here's the important bit.
I only have a limited amount of each fabric.
Once a particular design has gone, I can't guarantee I'll be able to get any more.
Some fabrics disappear incredibly quickly at Christmas, and because every hat is handmade, I can only make so many.
So if you've spotted a fabric you love, don't leave it too late.
Because I really don't want a message on 22nd December asking if I can somehow produce twelve matching hats by Christmas Eve.
Although, knowing me, I'd probably still consider trying. 😂
A Little Christmas Tradition You Can Use Every Year
One of my favourite things about making reusable Christmas products is knowing they're going to come back out year after year.
They aren't something you use once and throw away.
They become part of Christmas.
And there's something rather lovely about opening the Christmas decorations and finding those familiar things you've used around the table with family and friends before.
So yes…
It's August and I'm already talking about Christmas.
But handmade Christmas starts early!
